Continence & Pelvic Floor Rehab

The urinary bladder and ano-rectum are supported by muscles and ligaments which sling across the base of your pelvis to form a region called the pelvic floor. This is important for:
  • Control of bowel and bladder output
  • Stability of the pelvis
  • Support of pelvic contents

Physiotherapy for continence and pelvic floor rehabilitation involves the management of conditions associated with pelvic floor dysfunction. Though it is popularly thought that these are “women’s” problems they frequently apply to males also.

    These conditions include:
  • Urinary urgency
  • Stress urinary incontinence
  • Urgency incontinence
  • Faecal incontinence
  • Chronic pelvic pain
  • Bowel dysfunction e.g. constipation, irritable bowel dysfunction, difficult defecation, haemorrhoids

Our treating practitioners, have extensive experience in continence and pelvic floor rehabilitation. They are experienced practitioners who appreciate the sensitivity of dealing with this area and, consequently, afford the utmost privacy and professionalism in their client relationships.
